| Usage | Used against ß-lactamase producing strains of H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, S. aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella spp as well as ampicillin-susceptible organisms particularly S. pneumoniae. |

| Contraindications | Allergy to any of the penicillins. or other ß-lactams. Previous cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction associated with Augmentin. |
